Did you know that you can legally download YouTube videos, for example, with ease and efficiency using 4K Video Downloader software from the 4k Download website? You can get a free version of the software, that allows you to download playlists of less than 25 items. But why would you want to?

Well, the answer is because of roaming charges when you are abroad, or you want to listen to a music playlist, but live in Devon (where the countryside has dodgy signals), or you just like collecting things. For me, it was the fact that on my long walks along the coastal footpath, I would lose signal, and therefore would have to stop listening to music. Spotify, admittedly, has a paid version, that allows you to listen offline, but what if most of your playlists are on YouTube?

The solution for me was 4K Video Downloader, which can be found here. After a quick install, the intuitive user interface helped me be downloading stuff in seconds. I already have a lot of playlists set up on YouTube, so all I needed to do was copy the web address of a playlist from the browser address bar, and click on the big green button.

Downloads start immediately, and are really fast. You can also change settings to increase or decrease file size/ quality, and other useful settings, like file type etc. And that's it. So now, before I go walking, I pick a playlist and download ready for my phone. Simple.
